I'm a sucker for a solid last line, which you provided here. Perhaps, in this case, that's because I have no way to locate my paternal lineage past my birth father, but regardless - this is all a fantastic tie into the bridge of your past, and how, going forward, you are bridging the gaps. I cannot imagine the work that must be, but I also cannot imagine the joy it must bring at times, too.

I also love the quip between you and your brother, being full of wine and wisdom and yourself. That really stuck out to me. :)
