They definitely are. We all have a strong suspicion that it's no accident that Dad waited until Mom had died to tell us the truth. Whereas I tend to just be fascinated by these sorts of secrets, it might be something he was a bit ashamed of.
The best part about discovering that Grandma also pinpointed the same individual is that she was an old-school genealogist: the one who got her answers from trekking to courthouses, writing to genealogical societies and the like.
