Exactly! Maybe I earned myself a certain bit of respect by showing them that I didn't need their approval. When I've gone to reunions, I've been surprised by how many people seem happy to see me. But then again, I kind of made a high school career by showing everyone's best selves to the world, both through the newspaper and the yearbook.
