Oh, I'm not surprised it depends on the school district. I know that my son's school district has taken very big steps to prevent bullying and promote conflict resolution, which probably helps a lot. But you're right; kids are more comfortable being their authentic selves this day, even with support from teachers, which wasn't always guaranteed.
