I actually took a page from your book with the photos, because I've so much enjoyed seeing them on your own biographical entries of late. Photography is also a secondary passion for me, and I love seeing how much a photo can reveal about a person I've researched. Personally, I find there to be a bit of a mischievous twinkle in Fannie's eyes, whereas the Eutsler family in this photo looks so reserved and proper. Perhaps she didn't want to officially enter such a family, because it would have cramped her free spirit? Who knows?
Yes, this sort of work brings a lot of joy with it. When my mom passed, it was so sudden, and throwing myself into genealogy helped me to feel closer to her. I've identified so many of her cousins (of which she had dozens), and a good number of them remember her fondly, when I reach out to them.
Grandma, of course, had a lot of research on her own line, so I threw myself into researching my grandfather's line, which turned out to be very rewarding. In addition to identifying my biological great-grandfather, I also determined that, through the Weaver line, I am a distant cousin of President Barack Obama!
