That's awesome! I think both of us tell very clear stories, but pictures definitely add and enhance a piece for certain! While I'm not a photographer and know very little about photography as a hobby, pictures are memories for me, which is why I like to share them. And photos definitely reveal a lot. You're right about the look in Fannie's eyes - a definite difference from the reserved and proper Eutsler side. I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to cramp my free spirit, either. Better to be the rebel with the gleam in your eyes.
I can only imagine how much joy comes with discovering more about your past. I'd LOVE to do the same, but I have no info on my paternal side. Even for medical reasons, knowing more would help. But when he and his parents came here from Colombia, they changed their last name to a very English-sounding name, and since then... well, they have passed. I have no info, no links, and my mom refuses to tell me anything about him. It's a very dead end. But I'm glad you've been able to find out so much about your family, and you can pass that to KFP, too.
And you're a distant cousin of Barack Obama? That's cool! I wonder what the story is there. I find all this fascinating. :)
