My grandma was always cagey about answering questions for genealogy purposes. She always said things like “you might find out we’re related to horse thieves.” I suspect there’s something there but so far I have not discovered it. My great grandparents went to Canada today get married I mean it wasn’t that far from upstate NY but not really convenient which I never knew until I started poking around on Ancestry. I need to write up the history of my uncle who died in World War 2. It’s one of those things I should have written before when my memory was better. I meant there are family “secrets” but nothing I have found that was worth being as evasive as she was.
