And she must have been quite tenacious in her sleuthing. All of the things you found are much easier with the internet and with DNA testing that what she had to work with. I imagine her research involved a lot of letters and correspondence, because it would be so hard to gain access to records in the libraries and town halls of far-away cities. It's as if you often have to already know what you're looking for in order to request it.
I felt a pang when I read that Eustler never married. It turned out well for your grandfather and grandmother, as they clearly adored each other, but it seems Eustler probably loved your grandmother too, and wound up all alone. :(
