Black Rainbow
An oyster, hinged open in briny depths
to siphon seawater atop a flat, smooth stone
while brackish bubbles, like smoke, drift upwards
along the iron links of a chain
yoking a lead anchor to distant surface.
Above, barnacles bedew the soot-crusted steamer,
its glossy obsidian hull absorbing all.
